Geological formation of natural bentonite takes millions of years of natural geological evolution. It belongs to montmorillonite-based clay rock formed by volcanic ash and volcanic rock weathering, hydrolysis and mineral deposition in ancient geological periods. After long-term crustal movement, wind erosion, rainwater soaking and groundwater mineral reaction, original volcanic rock gradually decomposed and turned into layered clay mineral deposits. According to internal mineral structure, bentonite is mainly divided into sodium-based bentonite and calcium-based bentonite. Sodium bentonite owns better swelling capacity, viscosity and stability, which belongs to high-grade raw ore; calcium bentonite features low cost and good adsorptive effect for general industrial use. Our factory reserves two types of ore resources to make matched finished powder, meeting high-standard and conventional industrial demands of different customers.
Our bentonite raw ore comes from self-owned high-quality open-pit mines with stable reserve and superior geological conditions. The mining area has thick mineral layer, high montmorillonite content, low sand, soil and harmful impurity content, far better than scattered small mixed mines. We adopt standardized open-pit mining mode with safe operation and low ecological damage. Before mining, professional staff will conduct ore sampling and component testing to confirm mineral purity. We strictly reject weathered inferior ore, mixed impurity ore and surface sundry clay. Every batch of mined lump ore has fixed mineral index, ensuring stable viscosity, water absorption and anti-sedimentation performance of final bentonite powder. Steady self-owned mine supply avoids raw material price fluctuation and batch quality difference for downstream customer production.
We adopt layered manual screening and primary physical purification after ore mining. Mined raw bentonite is irregular wet lump with natural moisture. Workers firstly pick out large gravel, soil block and rotten impurity clay manually. Then qualified lump ore goes through natural air drying and mechanical low-temperature dehumidification to control water content within standard range. Unlike high-temperature baking treatment that destroys mineral layered structure, our mild drying process keeps original molecular activity of bentonite, retaining its natural swelling and thickening performance. After drying, raw materials go through primary coarse crushing to obtain uniform small ore particles, preparing for fine grinding and deep purification later.

Deep purification, targeted modification and ultra-fine grinding are core processing steps of our finished bentonite powder. For ordinary industrial grade powder, purified ore particles are sent to closed automatic grinding workshop, graded into 100mesh to 325mesh regular powder via airflow classification equipment. For high-end coating, oil drilling and cosmetic grade products, we adopt harmless sodium modification treatment. We add environment-friendly modifier to convert low-activity calcium bentonite into high-activity sodium bentonite, greatly improving powder thickening, suspension and high-temperature resistant performance. The whole modification process is water-based reaction without toxic discharge, conforming to international environmental production standards. We customize particle fineness and activity index based on customers’ usage scenarios.
Finished inspection, moisture-proof treatment and standardized packaging guarantee usable quality for cross-border transportation. After grinding and classification, our laboratory tests key indicators including montmorillonite content, swelling volume, viscosity, moisture content and impurity content one by one. Unqualified powder will be re-ground and purified again. Qualified bentonite powder will be added with trace anti-caking agent to avoid agglomeration during sea shipping and long-term storage. We use thickened moisture-proof woven bags and ton bags for diversified packaging, suitable for bulk container shipment and small-batch order delivery.
